Dougal Glaisher started paddling at Blundell's School in 2014. With his partner Francis Huntingford they won the Junior Devizes to Westminster two years in a row. Moving into Ocean Racing he paddled an Epic V12 competing for Great Britain. After winning Monster the Loch on 2019 he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, aged 20. He studied the disease as part of his BSc Biology degree at the University of Nottingham. On completion of his degree Dougal went walkabout leaving Calais on 23 August 2021.
5500km later, in December 2023 he came home.
