Jon White is a GB para athletes who races marathon, sprint & ocean racing. He made his mark in the UK paddling community when he completed the DW senior k2 race in 2012 having lost three limbs just two years before whilst serving in Afghanistan.
He went on to complete it again in 2019 achieving a time of 26:28 mins with his good friend Lee Waters in the senior k2 race. He has since led the way for para-athletes competing in Ocean Racing and Marathon.
As a global Ambassador for Vaikobi and Visa, and sponsored athlete for Kirton Kayaks Ltd and Ocean Surfski Jon is a regular at Exeter Canoe Club and races around the country, but can most often be seen on his gruelling training schedule on the Grand Western Canal, Tiverton, that little known hotspot for performance athletes!
Jon has achieved Bronze, Silver & Gold medals at the World Marathon Championships and Silver & Gold at the World Ocean Racing championships, and Gold at the European Championships, and Eurochallenge.
Paddling a V10 Gen 4, or a V8 Pro in the bigger conditions: nothing deters him from getting on the water. He is currently focusing on long term sprint goals in his unique custom made Kirton Kayaks paralympic boat, the Fortis.
