We know importing skis and gear has an impact on our planet world. July 2025 saw Earth Overshoot Day when all the resources were used up that would be naturally regenerated in time for use next year.

Our aim as a family and as a business is to do what we can to to reduce our impact, balanced with running the company and being realistic with our/your quality of life. We also aim to raise awareness, for the health of our oceans, supporting Surfers Against Sewage, the Lewis Pugh Foundation and Ocean Born Foundation.

Everything we do is aimed at getting us and our friends out on the water, safely, and trying to consistently reduce our footprint.

  • Our car in 100% electric, charged from our solar panels.
  • We want to use an electric van as soon as they are available with the power/mileage and within budget, to pull the trailer.
  • The office and house are heated with the air source heat pumps, and all purpose built, thoroughly insulated.
  • We keep the heating low - the team can wear lovely hoodies!
  • We strive to reduce the import miles on our stock. Not always achievable as a dealer of global brands but we do try to source locally where possible. And we prefer to ship rather than air freight.
  • Everything we sell is top quality, built to last for years. No fast fashion for us.
  • We regularly harass our suppliers to improve their supply chains and productivity for proper green action.
  • Ski and paddles can be repaired locally if damaged.
  • We try to minimise and recycle as much waste as possible, including at events.
  • Every beach we go to we will pick up rubbish.
  • We reuse packaging where possible, so boxes and bags will be reused for delivery. It may not look fancy but it makes sense.
  • We use recycled plastic bags to post kit - it protects the goods from damage, it is rainproofed if parcels are left on doorsteps, and it uses far less energy to create/ water usage/ waste than paper packaging. We aim to use bags that are made from recycled plastic, and are recyclable themselves.

Gear (craft and kit) that lasts the longest (because of best materials & design) will have the lowest impact - buy well, once.

We will take in and resell boats, paddles and gear if you are moving on, we'll probably know someone needing your kit.

Almost everything we supply can be repaired – if you need specialist advice: then get in touch.
