Former U23 GB Sprint paddler Mike Lambert has worked hard over the past few years to extend his paddle distance in preparation to paddle round Great Britain. Setting off from the beach of childhood memories from East Wittering on 1 June 2024 Mike has had to endure the weather working against him, for the majority of the route!

"I am undertaking this fundraiser in honour of my Mum, Caroline Lambert, and for all those impacted by Aortic Dissections.

This will be a record attempt. To achieve this I will need to cover 3200 km in under 40 days. Irrespective of the winds, tides and anything else the UK can throw at me, I will need to average more than 80 kilometres a day."

Mike has been paddling a V8 GT, identical to Dougal Glaisher's boat used for his 2023 40 day record breaking epic adventure.

Mike has endured Arctic storms, illness, and pretty relentless headwinds which ever way he turned, with very little help from the weather for comfortable downwinds! Mike finally completed his monster challenge on 28 July, 58 days later, elated and exhausted and having raised over £20,000 for Aortic Dissection.
